Hailing from the island of St. Thomas, Atlanta-based mix engineer Leslie Brathwaite works with the world’s top R&B, pop, and hip-hop artists such as Cardi B, who won the ‘Best Rap Album’ Grammy®, a first for a female rapper, and a Grammy win for Leslie as the mix engineer on her album “Invasion of Privacy”, adding to his 7 nominations for his mixes with legendary recording artists such as Outkast and Pharrell Williams. After graduating from Full Sail University in Florida in 1992 he quickly moved up through the studio hierarchy and at Atlanta’s DARP studios worked as an assistant to Dallas Austin where he got credits on Boyz II Men and 1994’s ‘Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik’ from Outkast. Today he works out of Means Street Studios using Focal Twin6 with a Sub12 subwoofer, and Focal Lensys Pro headphones, creating standout mixes for artists across a myriad of musical genres.
